TINA
PASOTRA
Tina Pasotra is an award-winning artist, director, and filmmaker based in Wales. Her multidisciplinary practice is rooted in the personal and the poetic, often exploring matrilineality, the body, dance, nature, and memory. In 2025, she was awarded the Arts Foundation Fellowship for Directing. Her latest short film, Jamni, is currently on the festival circuit.

Guided by curiosity and intuition, Pasotra’s work moves fluidly between spaces, from botanic gardens and film festivals to organisations such as the ICA, creating meditative experiences that invite reflection.

Between 2022 and 2024, she served as Writer in Residence with 5 Acts Productions and ITV, where she developed new writing for screen.

Pasotra’s projects include a collaboration with the National Botanic Garden of Wales, encompassing Bloom (2019), a self-directed residency (2020), and Mycelium (2022) a week-long residency platforming Black and Brown female creatives. The publication is archived at Tate Britain.

As a filmmaker, Pasotra’s first commissioned film, But Where Are You From? (2017), produced for Channel 4 / Random Acts, screened at festivals across the UK and India. Her debut narrative short, I Choose (2020), which she directed and co-wrote, was nominated for Best Short Film at BAFTA Cymru 2021.
